Cookbook Club

A new SSOTHG social event is starting in October 2023 and it is the Cookbook Club.  The Cookbook Club is a community for people of all cooking skills to come together to build cooking skills and friendships over food, one cookbook at a time with a different cookbook each month.  We have two events every month - one planning meeting on the first and second Tuesday of every month from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the SSOTHG weekly happy hour at Mountainside Grill and Bar at 3190 S Lincoln Ave in Steamboat Springs and the monthly dinner party (members will volunteer to host) on the third Monday of every month.

 

And wow, is this month's cookbook by Ina Garten, a treat!  "Barefoot Contessa Back To Basics" is a showcase of "fabulous flavor from simple ingredients".  What a great cookbook for our inaugural event to the entire SSOTHG.

October 2023 Planning Happy Hours

 

Tuesday, October 3 or 10, 2023 at at Mountainside Grill and Bar from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.  

Come join us on one of these two days to have a tasty beverage and peruse the cookbook together to pick out a recipe you will make for the dinner party.  Take a picture of the recipe and bring the dish to the dinner party.  One recipe per attendee made exactly as listed in the cookbook.  

 

October 2023 Dinner Party (Potluck Style Serving)

 

Monday October 16, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  October hosts are Jack Dysart and Carole Milligan.  Attendance limited to the first twelve attendees who advise Tom Winslow by text they are attending and pick out a recipe for each attendee in your party at one of the two happy hours.  You do not need to bring silverware or plates - just bring your dish and whatever utensil you need to serve it as well as your beverage of choice.  Please register with Tom Winslow at text of (860) 878-4478 (no phone calls or e-mails please).  We will eat first and afterwards everyone will discuss the recipe they made with the group to share the cooking experience (did they like it, would they make it again, did they learn any new cooking techniques, if making it again would you do or add anything different, etc.).
